Neil Oakman is local candidate having lived in Gosberton for the last three years. He originates from Cambridgeshire, and after University worked for Cambridge University as a laboratory technician.
For almost 30 years he has been working in horticulture, including as Head Gardener at RNRS gardens at St Albans and running a wholesale cactus and succulent nursery.
Neil moved with his family to Lincolnshire (initially to Kirton End) 10 years ago and to Gosberton 3 years ago.
Neil has been carer for his disabled mother for the last 18 months.
Neil's involvement in the local community includes helping with school football for 4 years when his son was at Quadring Primary school. He is school governor at Thomas Cowley High School, a volunteer junior coach and Club Shop manager at Boston Rugby Club and has recently been co-opted as treasurer of 4th Boston (Kirton) Scout Group.
In addition to this, Neil has been a volunteer at RSPB Frampton Marsh for the last 5 years. Neil is passionate about issues affecting young people, the elderly and disabled, local transport issues and the environment.
