Cllr Raymond Payne

Ray represents Oakham South and is the executive portfolio holder for Children’s Services, Homelessness and Housing Policy

Ray is married and lives in Oakham. He was a teacher and has worked in both the public and private sectors. The latter part of his career was spent working with children and young adults with Special Educational Needs.

Ray was elected to the Council in June 2022. He is keen to improve mental health provision locally and to protect Oakham from over-development. His hobbies include; rugby, travelling, history and reading.
