Save our Woods!

ALDI have announced plans to build a new supermarket north of the West Road/ Raymond Mays Way roundabout right next to Bourne Woods. The Lib Dems have been out talking to residents. Many people have told us they feel this is not the right place and could be the start of a western bypass of Bourne which could result in the destruction of Bourne Woods. 

Local residents who have lived in Bourne since before Raymond Mays Way was built have may remember that over 20 years ago a similar plan for a western bypass was discussed. However, due to the public outcry the plans were stopped. We now have a second chance to stop these damaging and badly thought out ideas. But we cannot do it alone.

We have started a petition calling for a hault to these plans in order to save our woods for future generations to enjoy.
