Meet John Vincent our Liberal Democrat candidate for Grantham and Bourne

The people of Grantham and Bourne have been let down for far too long. This election is our chance to get the change we need and the fair deal we deserve. John said: “Liberal Democrat local election successes across the whole country show that we are in a great position to win this new parliamentary seat”. He continued: “I’d work tirelessly to protect our natural environment. To invest in green jobs, to strengthen our economy and reduce the cost of living. To work with councils, community groups and local charities.”.

As a former councillor John understands the value of local services, delivered locally. Councils are suffering dreadfully from Conservative cuts. "The Conservatives have taken our area for granted for too long. We demand a fair deal for the people of Grantham and Bourne, and surrounding area”.

Educated in Coventry. John has worked in Germany for over a decade travelling widely. “From Toulouse to Seattle, from Derby to Canberra, from Stavanger to Cologne, Montreal to Hong Kong, I’ve had the privilege of working across cultures and across the globe. For the benefit of the constituency, that’s a lived experience I’d bring to Parliament”.

In a 40-year working career, John has acquired knowledge and experience in transport and engineering project management, certification and regulation, aircraft accident investigation and research, strategic planning and Implementation, crisis management, political affairs, policy, and legislation and public and private sector know-how.

John grew-up on a family livestock farm on the border of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. “My brother runs the family farm. I trained as an engineer. Fortunate enough to get an apprenticeship with a great British company that sadly has long gone.” John wants to see a renaissance in agriculture, science and engineering. “We have so much potential in Britain. Alas, we are so often let down by our poor politicians. I want to change that for good.”
