Having moved to Billingborough in June 2004, Murray has always been involved in the local community serving as a parish councillor in Billingborough and serving as chairman of both Pointon football club and Billingborough Horbling and Threekingham cricket club. He is also a keen advocate for providing sports activities and facilities for younger people.
